John F. N. Salik

Who am I?

My name is John F. N. Salik and I am a Canadian engineer with concurrently, 16 years of professional experience in research and development and 18 years of lecturing experience at the university and college levels.  In my capacity as a professional engineer, I have worked in space communications, medical imaging, computer vision, inspection robotics, and algorithm design. I left my previous mandate as Senior Scientist & Lead Engineer at the Centre de Recherche Enviro in Laval, Quebec and currently hold a position as Professor in the Department of Computerized Systems Technology at Vanier College in Montreal, Quebec.

In addition to my professional mandates which I am now pursuing part-time, I am currently a PhD Candidate in the Department of Computer and Electrical Engineering at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec.  My area of research is in advanced deep-space propulsion and I am supervised by Mojtaba Kahrizi.

In my spare time, I enjoy photography, cooking, writing and watching films. Teaching and mentoring provide me with a great sense of fulfillment as I greatly enjoy working with others in this capacity. I value a sense of family in both myself and others. I am a free-thinker and enjoy the company of those that are like-minded.

If you would like to discuss anything that appears on this site or suggest areas of interest, I would like to hear from you. Because the purpose of this page is to advance my research, I will give higher priority to messages that are research-oriented.

I thank you in advance for your interest, I will reply to you in short delay.
